Privacy Policy
What data BüroPilot collects, why we need it, how long we keep it and which rights you have over it — written to be readable, not to hide behind legal language.

Scope
This policy covers the BüroPilot.ch website and the BüroPilot web application. It applies to visitors of the website and to users of an account.
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR.

What we process
- Account data: name, email address, company name and location, provided when you register.
- Business data: clients, offers, invoices, reminders and settings you create inside the app.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, timestamps and error reports generated when you use the service.
- Communication: the content of messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

Why we process it
- To provide the service: storing and displaying your documents and clients.
- To operate securely: authentication, abuse prevention, backups and error diagnostics.
- To support you: answering questions and resolving problems you report.
- To meet legal obligations, for example bookkeeping and retention duties.

No sale of personal data
We do not sell personal data and we do not use your business documents to train advertising or profiling systems. Your client list stays yours.

Processors
We use a small number of service providers for hosting, database operation, email delivery and payments. Each of them processes data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.
Hosting and data storage are provided from Swiss and European data centres. TODO(confirm): the final list of processors and their locations will be published here before launch.

Retention
Account and business data are stored as long as your account exists. After deletion we remove the data within 30 days, except where statutory retention duties require us to keep individual records longer.
Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted.

Your rights
- Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: have inaccurate data corrected, directly in the app or through us.
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and its data.
- Portability: export your clients and documents at any time in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: object to processing that is based on our legitimate interest.
